La thèse, intitulée « Vers un urbanisme performatif : le performative turn dans les pratiques de transformation de la ville » explore les enjeux et potentialités d’une nouvelle infiltration créative du concept de « performativité ». Pour cela, elle s’appuie sur la richesse conceptuelle « indisciplinée » des performances studies. Dans un premier temps, la recherche s’attache à distinguer le « médium » du « concept » de performance, afin de mieux cerner l’essence du performatif : une puissance de déconstruction, d’hybridation et de recomposition. La thèse expérimente alors les effets de cette puissance sur les habitudes, conventions et normes qui régissent nos manières d’user et d’habiter, de penser et de transformer la ville. En investiguant le performatif à partir de trois axes principaux, à savoir les « émergences transformatrices », les « indisciplinarités performatives » et la « performativité des temps », cette thèse contribue à produire de nouveaux savoirs et savoir-faire, de nouvelles méthodologies, outils et processus de création. Lire ce travail, c’est alors un voyage aux croisements des disciplines et des pratiques, une invitation à la métamorphose, à l’hybridation profonde entre l’art et l’urbanisme, à l’interstice de la recherche et de la création. Au fond, cette thèse est une quête de reconnexion au monde, avec son corps et en situation, pour réengager intensément nos dispositions créatives, pour éveiller nos puissances d’agir.

The thesis, entitled « Towards a performative urbanism: the performative turn in city transformation practices » explores the challenges and potentialities of a new creative infiltration of the concept of «performativity». To do so, it draws on the «undisciplined» conceptual richness of performance studies. Initially, the research aims to distinguish the «medium» from the «concept» of performance, in order to better define the essence of the performative: a power of deconstruction, hybridization and recomposition. The thesis then experiments with the effects of this power on the habits, conventions and norms that govern our ways of using and inhabiting, of thinking about and transforming the city. By investigating the performative from three main angles, namely «transformative emergences», «performative indisciplinarity» and the «performativity of time», this thesis contributes to the production of new knowledge and know-how, new methodologies, tools and creative processes. Reading this work, then, is a journey to the crossroads of disciplines and practices, an invitation to metamorphosis, to the profound hybridization between art and urban planning, to the interstice of research and creation. In essence, this thesis is a quest to reconnect with the world, with our bodies and in situation, to intensely re-engage our creative dispositions, to awaken our powers to act.
